Portrait of Saskia Kroonenberg

Saskia Kroonenberg is a visiting fellow at inherit. heritage in transformation (HU Berlin) and a lecturer in cultural studies at Radboud University in the Netherlands. She was previously a Marie-Curie fellow at the a.r.t.e.s. Graduate School for the Humanities (University of Cologne), where she wrote a PhD on Antonio Gramsci’s political philosophy, postcolonial literature and new materialism. It was graded summa cum laude and won the Antonio Gramsci dissertation prize 2023.

Saskia has published in various journals and is currently finalizing a monograph about the notion of the mother tongue in contemporary Italy. She has been a visiting researcher at the Royal Netherlands Institute in Rome, the Erich Auerbach Institute for Advanced Studies in Cologne, the University of Zurich and Utrecht University. She sometimes writes blogs for Atria and is a board member of Radboud’s Halkes Women+ Faculty Network. She also loves to dance.
