Saskia Kroonenberg is a scholar in literary studies at Radboud University in the Netherlands. She was previously a Marie-Curie fellow at the a.r.t.e.s. Graduate School for the Humanities in Cologne. Her PhD combined Antonio Gramsci’s political philosophy with postcolonial literature and new materialism. It was graded summa cum laude and won the Antonio Gramsci prize 2023.

Saskia has been a visiting researcher at Utrecht University, the University of Zurich, the Royal Netherlands Institute in Rome and the Erich Auerbach Institute for Advanced Studies in Cologne. She is currently preparing a monograph at Amsterdam University Press about the notion of the mother tongue in contemporary Italy. She also loves to dance.
